What is PTD-DBM?
PTD-DBM is a synthetic fusion peptide that combines a protein transduction domain (PTD) with the Dishevelled-binding motif (DBM). The transduction domain enables the peptide to cross the cell membrane; the DBM portion binds to CXXC5. Supplied as freeze-dried powder, 5 mg per sealed vial.
CXXC5 is a negative regulator of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway; it binds Dishevelled and keeps the pathway suppressed. By disrupting this interaction, PTD-DBM is used in research as a tool to specifically study Wnt signaling.
