BAM15 is a furazane derivative and a mitochondrial uncoupler: the substance transports protons across the inner membrane of the mitochondrion, thereby uncoupling the electron transport chain of ATP synthesis. Supplied as a capsule containing 50 mg of active substance, 60 capsules per package.
What distinguishes BAM15 from classical uncouplers is its selectivity for the mitochondrial membrane: the plasma membrane remains polarized. As a result, the substance is useful in research as a targeted uncoupler where older compounds have too broad an effect.
